Disruption is inevitable. Preparation is paramount.

Cook Resilience Group builds the corporate security, crisis management, and continuity programs that keep organizations operating through their worst days, and provides the senior leadership to steer them.

Continuity Model: Operational Baseline Monitoring
◆ Disruption event Baseline restored

Most organizations find the gaps in their security and continuity programs at the worst possible moment. We find them first.

What we do

It starts with corporate security.

Everything we do protects continuity, and it's built on the security programs that prevent and contain incidents in the first place. That's where every engagement begins.

01 / Foundation

Corporate Security

The foundation. We design, assess, and document the programs that protect your people, facilities, operations, and reputation, and manage threats before they escalate.

Develop corporate security programs

Stand up a security function from the ground up: structure, standards, and the systems to run it day to day.

Evaluate corporate security programs

Measure an existing program against the threats you actually face, with a prioritized view of gaps and fixes.

Threat management

Identify, assess, and manage threats to the organization and its people before they become incidents.

Policy & procedure development

The documented policies and procedures behind it all, spanning corporate security, crisis management, and threat management.

Flagship engagement

Security leadership, sized to your organization.

Not every company needs a full-time Chief Security Officer, but every company needs the judgment of one. A fractional CSO gives you executive-level security leadership on the schedule and budget that fit where you are today.

  • Own the strategy

A single, accountable owner for security and resilience, setting direction, priorities, and standards across the organization.

  • Run the programs

Day-to-day oversight of your security, crisis, continuity, and threat management programs, so plans stay current and ready.

  • Brief the board

Clear, executive-ready reporting that turns risk into decisions leadership can act on with confidence.

What we do

Prepared for the crisis. Built to endure it.

With the security foundation and its leadership in place, we make sure your organization can respond when an incident hits and keep operating until it's resolved.

02 / Response

Crisis Management

When something goes wrong, preparation decides the outcome for your operations and your reputation. We build crisis programs your people can actually run under pressure.

Custom crisis management program

A program built around your organization: roles, decision paths, and escalation matched to how you operate.

Training & exercises

Hands-on training and scenario exercises so your team knows their role before the moment arrives.

Crisis guidebook

A tailored, plain-language guidebook your people can reach for in the middle of an incident.

Emergency preparedness & response planning

Ready-to-use plans for the events that put people at risk: evacuation, shelter-in-place, workplace violence and active-threat response, and severe weather, backed by mass notification and the training to execute them.

Reputational risk & crisis communications

Protect the organization's reputation when an incident hits: a communications strategy, stakeholder and media messaging, and coordination that keeps what you say aligned with how your team responds on the ground.

Crisis management team design

Structure the team that responds when it counts: defined roles, decision authority, activation triggers, and escalation paths, so the right people mobilize fast and work from the same playbook.

03 / Endurance

Business Continuity & Continuity of Operations

Keep operating through disruption. We plan for continuity so a bad day doesn't become a lasting setback.

Business continuity

Keep critical business functions running through disruption, and recover the rest in the right order.

Continuity of operations

Continuity built around your daily operations, dependencies, and the people who keep them moving.

How we work

Built for the moment it's needed, not for the audit.

P / 01

Custom, never templated

Every program is built for your operations, your risks, and your people. No off-the-shelf binder that sits on a shelf until the day it fails you.

P / 02

Practical under pressure

A plan is only as good as it is usable at 2 a.m. We write for the incident, testing what we deliver against how it will actually be used.

P / 03

Senior by default

You work directly with a senior practitioner who has led corporate security and crisis response, not a junior team learning on your risk.

Terry Cook

Terry Cook is the founder and principal of Cook Resilience Group, with more than three decades protecting people, operations, and reputation across media and entertainment, government, aviation, and law enforcement, for organizations from startups to $9 billion global enterprises.

As Senior Director of Corporate Security & Safety at NPR, he built an enterprise program (spanning a Security Operations Center, access control, mass notification, and crisis management) that the Department of Homeland Security recognized as an industry benchmark across 35 bureaus and 263 member stations. At SiriusXM, he led physical and executive security, business continuity, and threat response for the $9 billion broadcaster, unifying two security systems into a best practice after the Sirius–XM merger.

His crisis and continuity work has been proven in the field: he managed public safety and technology operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport through Hurricane Katrina, and safely extracted at-risk correspondents from multiple countries. Across NPR, SiriusXM, and other organizations, he has developed and implemented the business and operational continuity plans and procedures that safeguard their people, operations, and security. He founded Cook Resilience Group to bring that same senior, hands-on expertise to organizations building, or rethinking, how they protect what matters most.
